Bonnie Taub, M.PH., M.A., Ph.D.,a medical anthropologist, is Co-Chair of the Latin American Studies M.A. Program, Associate Director of the Latin American Institute and on the faculty in the Fielding School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles(UCLA).

Dr. Taub received her B.A.  with a double major in Psychology and French from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, her Masters in Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), her M.A. in Latin American Studies from UCLA and her Ph.D. in Anthropology from UCLA.

Dr.Taub conducts research on indigenous peoples and mestizos in Latin America and among multi-ethnic groups in the United States. She teaches courses about culture, politics and health, community and family health, human rights, traditional medicine/shamanism and Western medicine including the following popular courses: "Health, Disease and Health Services in Latin America," "Traditional Medicine, Shamanism and Folk Illness in Latin America," "Health,Poverty and Culture in the Americas" and “Chocolate in the Americas”.

Dr. Taub consults and conducts anthropological training and development of cultural assessments for clinicians and non-profits working worldwide, works on humanitarian and community service projects and serves as expert witness/consultant on legal cases involving Latin American youth and adults.
